Sequencing Adapted Book: "How to Grow a Plant"

This Sequencing Adapted Book, "How to Grow a Plant," teaches a basic five-step sequence for growing a plant.

1. Gather materials.

2. Pour soil in our pot.

3. Dig holes in our soil and put seeds in them.

4. Cover our seeds and give them water.

5. Make sure our seeds get plenty of water and sunlight so that they will grow.

In this interactive adapted book activity, the teacher or therapist reads the book to students, as students follow along and match the correct step or picture to each page.  At the end of the book, students sequence all five steps for growing a plant.

Also included are a cut and glue worksheet, and a visual support for growing a plant.

Students may also practice making planting seeds, with an included visual that breaks down the steps. After students have practiced with the adapted book, they may complete the cut and glue worksheet included.
