Sequencing Adapted Book: "How to Make a Valentine's Day Card"
This Sequencing Adapted Book, "How to Make a Valentine's Day Card," teaches a basic five-step sequence for making Valentine's Day Cards.
1. Gather materials.
2. Cut hearts out of red paper.
3. Fold white paper in half.
4. Glue red hearts on white paper.
5. Write something nice and sign your name.
In this interactive adapted book activity, the teacher or therapist reads the book to students, as students follow along and match the correct step or picture to each page. At the end of the book, students sequence all five steps for making a Valentine's Day card.
Also included are a cut and glue worksheet, and a visual support for making Valentine's Day cards.
Students may also practice making Valentine's Day cards with an included visual that breaks down the steps. After students have practiced with the adapted book, they may complete the cut and glue worksheet included.
