Suggestions for how to use this unit:
Adapted Book:
The teacher or therapist will read the adapted book with students, as students follow along, match the correct pictures to each page, and learn to identify zoo animals.

Who do we see at the zoo?
Make a Match Zoo Animal Mat:
In a small group, center or independent work station, students will complete the the non-identical matching mat. In other words, they will match a hippo to a hippo, a lion to a lion, a monkey to a monkey, etc. But the animals are not the same.
Zoo Animals Big Flips Matching Activities:
There are three sets included for students working at three different levels. Level 1--Matching zoo animals, picture to picture. Level 2--Matching each zoo animal to the word. Level 3--Matching each zoo animal to the sentence that describes them.
Zoo Animals Wh-Questions:
This set of WH Questions includes 18 different questions about zoo animals Students can indicate their answers by pointing, clipping, or using a dry erase marker. Sample questions include:
Which one has feathers?
Which animal has hooves?
Which one is the heaviest?
Which animal is tall?
Who one has fur?
Interactive Bulletin Board Posters:
The interactive bulletin board posters can be displayed on your interactive bulletin board. Students can interact with the poster by matching the correct zoo animal to each poster. You can also print and laminate a second set for your workstations or centers and put them on a metal ring to create another work task.
